It really gives me great pleasure to transform a client’s garden. This is a hectic world for most of us and the need for a sanctuary is vital to a sense of well-being. That sanctuary is your garden.

I remember when I first started out in garden maintenance, I had a 75 year old client who wanted her lawn mowed. Mrs Heidermann had a walking frame and so rarely ventured much beyond her front gate. One day I suggested this vast boring lawn could do with a garden bed near the front door. I gave her a quotation and she accepted!

I had free reign to select plants I thought would work and so I bought around 30 plants. Her reaction was so touching, she was in awe of her new garden and absolutely loved it. And so, every month I would remove sections of lawn and add more plants. She would walk out daily to inspect what was in flower. One day she said to me the kindest remark,

“Andrew, you have given me reason to walk every day to look at my wonderful garden and I believe you have added years to my life”.

What do you say to that?! That is the power of a beautifully considered garden landscape.

GARDEN DISPLAY FEATURE by Melbourne Polytechnic

Devised in 1947, the clock is a metaphor for threats to humanity from unchecked scientific and technological advances. Initially the clock was set to 7 minutes to midnight, it is now set to 100 seconds to midnight. This garden installation is a representation of the clock and our passage through time.

Urban Swimming Pools were established in 2005 and specialize in providing one to one supervision of the construction of our projects. We build most pool styles including reinforced concrete, fiberglass and modular pools. The other part of our business is renovating existing pools and equipment. We have won numerous awards over the years from the governing body of the swimming pool industry, the Master Pool Builders Association of Australia.

 We are a not for profit association. We create sculptures for indoor and outdoor displays, we exhibit through out the year and all over Victoria. Quite a large proportion of our members are available for commissions.

Christian Jenkins Landscape Design

Christian Jenkins began his outstanding career at a young age, as a Gardener and Horticulture student. Whilst working as a gardener at Ivanhoe Grammar School, Christian also studied horticulture at Mbourne University, Burnley campus. He later went on to travel around Australia, where he worked with other Landscapers, helping to infuse his garden design values.

Christian’s love of garden design has seen him enter 15 times, in the Melbourne International Flower Garden Show. His unique designs have won him over 50 magazine publications and interviews with Better Homes and Gardens.

Christian Jenkins embraces design, which celebrates space, function, texture, colour and movement. When he moved from Melbourne to the Otway Ranges, he built a Solar Passive Rammed Earth home- once again, proving his passion for design and construction..Christian is well respected by his team, and peers in the industry.
